Jon Berg, the Warner Bros. Pictures co-president of production and the executive producer of the DC Films section has stepped down from his position, reported Variety.
According to the magazine, Warner Bros. is planning a restructuring of its DC Films operations following the disappointing performance of its latest film Justice League. While the search for Berg’s replacement is still in progress, the report added that Berg will be joining the production team of The Lego Movie, in collaboration with Roy Lee.
“This is something that Jon approached me about six months ago, and he expressed his goal was to ultimately be a producer at the studio,” Warner Bros. Picture Group President Toby Emmerich said in a statement to Variety. “I first met Jon when, as a producer, he brought Elf to New Line, which remains one of the best and most evergreen titles in the library. We’re thrilled that Jon is partnering with Roy and anticipate their company being a valuable source of movies for Warner Bros. and New Line.”
Directed by Zack Snyder, the superhero production starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa grossed $570.3 million worldwide following three weeks of its release, compared to the $1.5 billion that The Avengers (2012) had raked in.
