“Tum mujhe khoon do, mein tumhe azaadi doonga,” (Give me blood and I’ll give you freedom) Rajkummar Rao says, reiterating Subhash Chandra Bose’s famous 1943 speech to the Indian National Army in Burma, in the trailer for ALT Balaji’s upcoming web series on the freedom fighter.

Directed by Pulkit, Bose: Dead/Alive explores the many controversies surrounding the enigmatic leader and ALT Balaji bills it as “the story of India’s biggest cover-up: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the mystery of his alleged death”.

If the August trailer of the series made clear that it would tackle the biggest mystery surrounding Bose –whether he truly died in a plane crash on August 18, 1945 – the second trailer hints at other contentious details of his life that remain shrouded in secrecy, including his frequent disappearances and his purported encounter with Adolf Hitler.

The series, which will be available for streaming on November 20, also stars Naveen Kasturia, Patralekhaa and Edward Sonnenblick and its creative producer is Hindi filmmaker Hansal Mehta.
