Ajay Devgn will produce the Hindi remake of Karthik Subbaraj’s Tamil blockbuster Jigarthanda, reported the Outlook. Starring Farhan Akhtar and Sanjay Dutt in the lead, the film will be directed by Nishikant Kamat.

According to reports, in the Bollywood adaptation of the 2014 crime-drama film, Farhan Akhtar will play an assistant director and aspiring filmmaker who, after being kicked out of a talent hunt, decides to make a movie on a gangster (Sanjay Dutt) and enters his dangerous world to discreetly study him.

“I am producing the film and we are working on the script,” Devgn said. “It will start in January-February. It is inspired from Tamil film Jigarthanda. It is a fabulous story. It is not going to be an exact copy of the film, we will change things. But at the same time, quite a lot of stuff will be similar.”

Devgn had previously worked with Kamat in Drishyam (2015), a remake of Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam film of the same name.
