Universal Pictures has taken Bride of Frankenstein off its release schedule, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A remake of the 1935 classic, the film was initially meant to be released on February 14, 2019.

Directed by Bill Condon, Bride of Frankenstein is a part of Universal’s Dark Universe series, which will reboot classic monster stories. The franchise kicked off earlier this year with The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella.

“After thoughtful consideration, Universal Pictures and director Bill Condon have decided to postpone Bride of Frankenstein,” the studio said in a statement. “None of us want to move too quickly to meet a release date when we know this special movie needs more time to come together.”

Universal is also reportedly developing an Invisible Man installment and an adaptation of Jekyll & Hyde, to be released as part of the Dark Universe series.
