Indrajit Lankesh, the brother of journalist Gauri Lankesh, has issued a legal notice to Kannada director AMR Ramesh, asking him to refrain from making a film on the murder, reported Deccan Chronicle. Gauri Lankesh was shot dead on September 5 by unknown assailants at her residence in Bengaluru.

Indrajit Lankesh has also sent a notice to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, added the publication.

Ramesh, known for such films as Cyanide and Attahasa, had announced that his movie would focus on the murder and examine all possible theories. “I was shocked when learnt about the brutal murder of Gauri,” he told The Hindu. “As I knew Gauri closely and I have decided to make a film on her, exploring all possible angles for her killing.” The Karnataka government claims to have identified Lankesh’s killers, but no arrests have been made yet.
