Production designer and art director Joel Schiller, best known for his work on Rosemary’s Baby (1968), The Illustrated Man (1969) and The Muppet Movie (1979), has died at the age of 86, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter. He had died on January 17 at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, but his death had not been previously reported.

Schiller worked as an assistant production designer to Richard Sylbert on sets of The Graduate (1967). Schiller and Sylbert worked together on Rosemary’s Baby a year later. Schiller drew the production sketches for art director and costume designer Cecil Beaton’s work on My Fair Lady (1964). Beaton won two Academy Awards for his work on the film.
