Saif Ali Khan steps into the shoes of Jon Favreau in Raja Krishna Menon’s Hindi remake of the American comedy-drama Chef (2014). Menon’s version, which retains the title of Favreau’s original, also stars Padmapriya, Svar Kamble and Chandan Roy Sanyal. The film will be released on October 6.
The trailer for the Bollywood version of Chef suggests that the remake does not stray too far from the original.
Estranged from his family, Roshan Kalra (Saif Ali Khan) works as a chef at a Michelin-star restaurant abroad. Back in Kochi, his son (Svar Kamble) misses him and asks if Kalra will come to see him perform at an event at his school. As father and son reconnect over the best that Indian food has to offer, Kalra decides to embark on the culinary adventure of a lifetime with this son.
